Translated as Birdland, Domaine Camp Aucels is located in the commune of Montagnac just outside of the Picpoul de Pinet appellation. Owner and winemaker Cathy Do was born and raised in this area and has a almost spiritual connection to the land and vines. Committed to restoring this region back to its former glory, Cathy is uncompromising in her commitment to the traditional varieties of the region and to meticulous organic farming. The Domaine is spread out over 12ha separated into two vineyards, the Camp Aucels Vineyard in Montagnac and the Castelnau de Gondal vineyard located in the heart of the appellation Picpoul de Pinet.
Cathy’s commitment to synergy with nature extends beyond her farming techniques and into her winemaking as well. Choosing to pick at higher acid levels to ensure freshness and bottling her wines unfined and unfiltered with just a tiny amount of sulphur Camp Aucels wines truly are great expressions of their terrior.
