At its core Carpinus is about family, spend any time with the brother and sister team of Edit and István Bai and this becomes evident. Tokaj is in their blood and the passion and love they possess for their region is unmistakable and infectious. 

Farming close to 7 hectares in 7 different vineyards sites, which were classified first and second growths in the historical classification of Tokaj (The World’s first legal vineyard classification); Carpinus is dedicated to uncompromising value and quality. Combining their years of experience both in and outside of Tokaj Edit and István are helping to drive Tokaj forward. Whether it be through their commitment to organic farming, pushing for stricter quality controls, or helping to found a new co-op to teach new generations modern winemaking techniques; the Bai’s are bringing much needed innovation and modernization while still keeping the identity of one of the world’s most historic wine regions.
