Krisztina Csetvei may not have been born in Mór, but the tiny wine region has certainly stolen her heart. Choosing to establish her tiny cellar in the village and devoting herself to showcasing the beauty of the region through its terroir, native grape Ezerjó, and a slew of other native and non-native grapes via her unorthodux, sensitive, winemaking approach. In a rather short amount of time Krisztina has become a leading force in a new generation of Hungarian winemakers focusing on native varietals, organic farming, and “natural wines.”
The wines of Csetvei Pince continue to fascinate us; they are alive with each varietal displaying its own unique personality. They always feel so seamless, less like they were made and more as if they were shepherded. Her ability to blend power and elegance with the searing acidity of the native Hungarian varietals is in many ways enchanting.
In Krisztina’s own words: “I make my wines with love, I do my best, I try to bow my head before the vintage, every barrel and container of wine is my own child. I'm constantly learning how to make wine, I'm curious, I'm open-minded in the world…”
